The Secret Squirrel Group

The Colchester Secret Squirrel Group is a subsection of The Society. It celebrates the children's cartoon character created by Hanna-Barbera, which did so much to raise the profile of the squirrel amongst young children.

Secret Squirrel first appeared in a prime-time animated series called The World of Secret Squirrel and Atom Ant, which aired on NBC TV in the USA on September 12, 1965.

Secret Squirrel was a parody of the spy genre, and most of the episodes parodied elements of the James Bond films. Secret Squirrel was also known as "Agent 000". In 1993, 13 new Secret Squirrel cartoons appeared between the "2 Stupid Dogs" first-season episodes, with the updated title "Super Secret Secret Squirrel" and a new cast.

To join Colchester's Secret Squirrel Group you must firstly be a Member of the Colchester Squirrel Society, and secondly you must have a proven association with Ben Hall. If you are not acquainted with Ben, we regret that you are not eligible to join the Secret Squirrels.

North American visitors to Colchester Castle who hold an identity card issued by their National Squirrel Association (NSA) are most welcomed guests at our Secret Squirrel meetings.
